Default Weather Tutorial Help

Hi, I was searching for material to study, to increase
my ability to understand the soaring weather in my
area. I found some links to tutorials on ROAB/skew-T
charts, but they were broken.

I found a site that gives me a current skew-T chart,
but I need to learn more about them. Can anyone point
me to a functional web site with this info?

Mike

http://weather.unisys.com/index.html

http://weather.unisys.com/upper_air/skew/index.html

after you pick which SkewT you want and it is displayed, it is with a black
background, at the top of that page, select INV (inverse) to get a usable
white background for copying the graphic and printing.

Also the new FAA-H-8083-13 (Soaring Handbook) has a good description and
also the "Aviation Weather Services" book

Downloadable from the FAA in Acrobat.pdf format
AC00-6A Aviation Weather
AC00-45E Aviation Weather Services
FAA-H-8083-13 Soaring Handbook
FAA-H-8083-25 Pilots Handbook of Aeronautical Knowledge

and a variety of other Advisory Circulars and books.

There is a bit on my UK soundings page
http://www.btinternet.com/~stephen.h...ingsFramed.htm
If any one wants to rip-off this for other countries feel free - it should
be quite easy to convert and tidy up - was done in frontpage.

Richard Kellerman, QV, did an outstanding presentation at Philadelphia
Glider Council's annual ground school. The presentation is posted on
the SRA web site: http://sailplane-racing.org/general.htm

If you go to
http://www.bom.gov.au/reguser/by_pro...etar_nat.shtml
and look under the links in the `Sports Aviation' box on the right, that
will get you going. Be aware that the F160 diag that BOM uses is a bit
different to most other logp-skewT charts.

You can also find the last sounding for all au sites from there.
