Default Fairing Putty

System Three the makers of T-88 epoxy has a product called QuikFair, a
microballoon filled two part epoxy fairing putty. Does anyone have experience
with it? How does it compare to SuperFil?
Any advice on something better than either one?
Thanks!

I bought some fairing compound to add to the 2-part epoxy I am using to make
some repairs. Before purchase I had no idea what it was but the tech
explained that you just mix it with the epoxy to make a sandable body
filler. Upon opening it I discovered it looked exactly like diatomaceous
earth (pool filter powder). It is easy to work with. You mix by eye, too
little compound and it will be runny, too much and it will not stick. I did
a couple of tests (purely unscientific) mixing the diatomaceous earth and
epoxy and mixing the firing compound and epoxy and could see no difference.
They worked the same and the finish and flex was the same. The pool filter
powder is a fraction of the cost of the fairing compound. I would also be
interested in hearing from others with experience with this. PS: Makes a
great Napalm as well. Just mix with gas or diesel to make the flammable
jelly.
