Default LS-3a flap-fuselage gap seals

Does anyone have a source for mylar that can be used to construct
flap-to-fuselage gap seals for an LS-3a? Also, does anyone know the
proper thickness of mylar to get?

James,

I use McMaster clear polyester film .010" (part number 8567K92)

Unfortunately they only sell it in 10 foot lengths (by 40"). So unless
you need the lifetime supply, I will be happy to send you some gratis
off of my roll. Just let me know an address.

BTW, here is the link to the flap wiper template(s) that I use.

Larry

A former LS-3 owner who is a doctor cut his flap/fuselage gap seals
from used X-ray film. Not pretty but it apparently worked. Not sure
whether he used a scalpel or just a pair of scissors. He wasn't a
surgeon, though, so I suspect scissors would work just fine.

The ones I've seen looked like they were made from .014" mylar. I've
got lots of the stuff, left over from making the HP-24 wing plugs. Send
me a stamped, self-addressed legal-sized (for 8.5" x 14" documents)
envelope and I'll send you enough mylar for a set of seals.
