Wurtsboro Airport NY Closed ??

I see a Notam that the main runway has been closed since early
December. There was also an article about a developer looking to keep
it as an airport but building houses.

Anyone have any idea what's going on there?

Tom,
It is possible that the airport is closed during the winter. Last
winter, it was closed for few months because of heavy snow. We were
there late last fall and learned that the airport was sold to a
businessman from Long Island. According to Joe, the airport manager,
the new owner planned to keep the airport open.

Got a confirmation from a friend who keeps his plane at Wurstboro. He
confirmed that the notams was due to snow and the airport is not close.
