I understand that Fossett is missing after leaving the Hilton Ranch
yesterday in a Super Decathlon. I hope that he is found OK.

Al, any idea who's coordinating the search and whether they need any
help? I tried calling Lt. Ryan and also another couple CAP wings, no
answer yet. Lt. Ryan's phone is busy all the time, hopefully that's a
good sign.

Thanks, Bob K.

I just got through to _Maj._ Ryan. She says they don't need additional
help at this time - they have six aircraft and crews and three
helicopters in the air.

I would love for that to be true, but that is not what is being reported here
in the US.

As of 1600 GMT no news of him being found in any news outlets.

I'd say the lack of any radio signals at all, is not a good sign.

I'd be very interested in what circumstances could cause such an
expereinced pilot to go missing in an area he's fairly familiar with.

No, it just means lots of people are trying to call Major Ryan. I
can't see how it's good or bad.
