Default sounding software

A few years ago at a competition weather breifing I saw the demonstration of
a program that used model data to generate soundings over the contest area.
There was what looked like a graphical representation of the terrain with
small circles over the grid points, with each circle having some sort of
sounding data within. Does this ring a bell with anybody?
