Default Fuselage cradle - New carpet

Any ideas on how to keep the new carpet layer attached to
the complete steel curved surface until the glue goes off
apart from using the fuselage itself?

Sand bags or a contractor-grade trash bag filled with water to create an even pressure around the contoured surface.

I use 3M brand spray adhesive. It's very tacky right away and the carpet sticks as soon as it is laid on. The more you spray - the stronger the bond. Good for fuselage dolly, tail dolly, etc.

Definitely 3M spray adhesives are the way to go. There are two general types.

1) 3M Super 77 which is for thinner non-porous materials - spray on and boom things are together forever. You won't get a second chance to adjust things.
2) Foam Fast 74 which I would recommend for porous materials like carpeting - spray on and wait for it to get tacky before placing the material, you will still have some ability to move things around for a bit of time.

Watch out for over spray. I'd practice on some scrap material.

Best of luck.
