Default Cloud Stamps

CELEBRATE THE NEW CLOUD STAMPS AT NCAR CLOUDSCAPES STATION THIS SUNDAY

A stunning photo of a lenticular cloud above Barker Reservoir by
UCAR's own Carlye Calvin is one of the 15 stamps in the new
Cloudscapes stamp series from the U.S. Postal Service.

You're invited to a celebration for young folks and adults on Sunday,
October 17, from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m., as the Mesa Lab becomes NCAR
Cloudscapes Station for a day.

Meet Carlye and Richard Keen, a climatologist at CU-Boulder who
contributed cloud descriptions as well as three photos to the series.

NCAR meteorologist and GLOBE chief scientist Peggy LeMone will give an
illustrated talk based on her booklet “The Stories Clouds Tell."

Also featuring:

* Nick Carter, 9News meteorologist, Master of Ceremonies

* Cloudscapes stamp unveiling ceremony with the Boulder Postmaster

* Commemorative cancellations at NCAR Cloudscapes Postal Station
(stamps available for purchase)

Sunday, October 17
1:00–4:00 p.m.
NCAR Mesa Lab (Mezzanine and Main Seminar Room)

See the full schedule and what the stamps look like at the Cloudscapes
Web site below.

----Where can I get the stamps if I can't come on Sunday?----

UCAR was allotted 3,000 Cloudscapes sheets, but they are flying out
the door, according to Site Services. The stamps will be available
for purchase at the front desks on a first come, first served basis
until they're gone.

See the Web page at http://www.ucar.edu/news/stamp.shtml.
