Default Soaring Moving to Condor?

Hey Guys,

With coronavirus clamping down on flying activities and keeping us home, it looks like many will only be able to get their flying fix in the virtual skies.

If you are looking for competition and racing, check out US Nightly Soaring at 9pm eastern every day and Monday Night Soaring at 7pm/10pm.

If your club is looking to do training online, basic or advanced, this is a good time to provide those resources.

I could help with making tasks, setting up servers and equipment, or otherwise advising how you could use the simulator. I can develop other kinds of tasks or training tools, depending on what individuals and clubs are looking for. I could also help a club and its instructors set up its own resources.

For clubs that are shutting down for the time being, this would be a good way to keep your students/members engaged and providing the needed distraction from all the world events.

Let me know how I could help. Feel free to contact me at danielsazhin at gmail.com.

All the best,
Daniel

Thanks Daniel!

With everyone having a little more time on their hands, can someone put together a condor 2 scenery for the Reno area including Truckee, Airmailing, Minden and surrounds? The sierras Scenery is great, but it doesn't go far enough north. I would donate to that effort!

TeamXC.us

We have a growing cadre getting together online every Monday and Friday night thanks to the efforts of Bret Hess from the Utah Soaring Association. We use Discord so we can chat with ease and coach each other along. It's a very friendly and helpful group, and I highly recommend it as a good place to get some low-pressure sim soaring in so you can keep your head in the game during the downtime.

I loved the US Nightly Soaring races I flew months ago, but I could never find anyone on the listed Teamspeak servers. I found it challenging, but rather solitary once the regulars took off on the task.

I was PMed to add the links to the competitions!

Here is the URL for US Nightly Soaring: http://www.condor-club.eu/comp/show/0/?id=361

Here is the URL for Monday Night Soaring: http://www.condor-club.eu/comp/show/0/?org=true&id=371

I'd get Condor, if it ran on my Mac (and no, I'm not going to run any Microsoft software on my Mac, even with emulation).

You can run Condor 1 on most old used cheap/free PCs

Daniel,
As always, thanks for pushing the cart with USNS. It's an awesome opportunity to fly with some very good pilots. It's really how I learned to fly XC. I know it takes a lot of work and time to make that competition happen, so thank you.

With that said, would you please post a tutorial for everyone on this list to understand how to actually register AND login to a race. Most people I have tried to get involved with USNS fail at this part and give up.
BECAUSE IT'S COMPLICATED! There are no good instructions.
Condor Club is a mess of a website and one has to pay to download sceneries (with any expediency).
Is there a better way?

Here is a link to my google drive folder containing Sierra Nevada, New Zealand, and Transandino landscapes (the latter 2 are still uploading and should be done there around noon pst.)

Let me know if you have any problems downloading.

Zach
