NASA Astronaut Diaper chick...

. net... Mission specialist. OK, that explains it. Hey why don't we just get some homeless guys to fly in space. It would save us a ton of money. There is more to being in the shuttle than being a pilot. See above... NASA is meant to be more about science than the military. So where did I mention the military, Brainiac? Your reference to flight hours and the Mercury program. Weren't early astronauts recruited from the military and required a minimum number of flight hours in fast jets (thus ruling out women). Get with the program, you're talking how many decades ago? Yeah, I know, "dumbing down" is SOP in every walk of life these days. I predict that soon the minimum requirement for holding a job will be can you get there at least one day a week... Hey, that makes me overqualified. Perhaps I can get one of those directorship positions where I sit around and do nothing but collect a huge pay check. One day a week ought to be fine. What a hero, now tell us about how you learnt to fly using wing warping. Hehehe. Well, Im not quite THAT old....But I did solo in a Luscombe. Well, I had hope that you weren't that old? Would have been a good laugh if you had said otherwise |

Your comments are so stupid on so many levels it's difficult to know where
to begin... Really??? How long have you earned your living as a pilot? OK: the diaper is the least puzzling aspect of this whole episode. Shuttle crews wear diapers during launch & reentry when they do not have access to the lavatory. Ummm. Yes. BUT SHE WASN'T ON THE ****ING SHUTTLE, WAS SHE? She was driving across the country and any idiot knows that every 40 or 50 miles there is place to take a squat...Only an insane person would **** their pants if it wasn't necessary. Political correctness? What? Did you read any other part of her biography? She is qualified as a mission specialist. She is an engineer. She does not fly the orbiter. OK. But the NEWS MEDIA keep saying she is an "astronaut". Perhaps there should be a push to call people WHAT THEY REALLY ARE, instead of giving them gratuitous titles that they haven't actually earned. Political correctness???? A couple of the males in her class: MICHAEL ³MIKE² FINCKE (LIEUTENANT COLONEL, USAF) NASA ASTRONAUT: over 825 flight hours in more than 30 different aircraft types. I really love this one...825 hours in more than 30 different aircraft types....gimme a ****in' break. I want to see this guy's logbook. LEE M.E. MORIN, M.D., PH.D. (CAPTAIN, USN) NASA ASTRONAUT: doesn't seem to be a pilot at all. And therefore not an astronaut....a mission specialist maybe? Did you know that the FAA now has a Certificate called "Commercial Astronaut", and that to earn that rating one must actually "fly" a spacecraft???? You don't get it by riding on one. OL |

I know this will not convince you; however, here is the Wikipedia definition of "astronaut." http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Astronaut Dictionary.com defines it as: http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/astronaut You don't have to be a pilot to meet the "travel in space" definition. NASA has several set of wings for crew members. Career Astronauts, Astronaut Candidates and Mission Specialist Astronauts. (http://www.jsc.nasa.gov/Bios/) The term astronaut applies to all crew members. By the way, where did you find the "Pilots only" astronaut definition? Wayne http://www.soaridaho.com/ |

An astronaut or cosmonaut (Russian: ???????“?? IPA: [k?sm?'naft]) is a person who travels in space or has been trained to do so. While often reserved for professional space travellers, the term is also sometimes applied to anyone who travels into space, including scientists, politicians, journalists, and tourists. Bob Moore |

She was driving across the country and any idiot knows that every 40 or 50 miles there is place to take a squat...Only an insane person would **** their pants if it wasn't necessary. Well she did apparently go a little insane. She wanted to get where she was going as quickly as possible. Even in her scrambled mental state she saw that as a problem that could be solved by wearing a diaper. Of course she knew there were places to stop. She didn't want to stop, that's the point. As an astronaut she wouldn't think twice about ****ing in a diaper if it would solve a perceived problem. Political correctness? What? Did you read any other part of her biography?
