I didn't vote, but my pick would probably be The Great Waldo Pepper.

Not me, but if I had known I could vote for it I would have. The sound
track alone earns my vote. :-)

Agreed and there was some great aerial photography too!

The song "Take My Breath Away" still does exactly that - very well done.

Would have voted for 12'oclock high. One of the finest films I've ever seen.

Great Waldo Pepper had more to do with airplanes. Island in
the Sky is very good too.

Actually I liked 12'oclock high for a reason not directly related to
airplanes.
The opening segway with Dean Jagger from the present into the past and the
closing segway returning again to the present are in my opinion some of the
finest creative film work ever shot.

A smooth, uninterrupted transition from one thing to another is a segue. A
Segway is a self-balancing, two-wheeled personal transportation device.
They sound very much alike.

Not me -- but I might have. Even after a year of showing aviation-
themed movies every Tuesday night, Top Gun (the movie we started Movie
Night at the Inn with) is in our top five.

The music and flight sequences are by far the best of any aviation
movie ever made. The plot is...enough to keep the women interested.
(The volleyball scene never fails to get the women worked up...)

For some fun Top Gun trivia, see:
