Flying IS popular
Don't count G.A. out just yet.
As part of our "Ultimate Valentine's Day" package, we included a 30 minute sunset airplane ride over the city. Somewhat to my surprise, it proved to be quite popular. In fact, we had some difficulty scheduling them all around sunset! And at least half of the couples opted to have one or the other of them sit up front, and log it as an actual flight lesson. One guy signed up for flight lessons immediately after the ride! See a little blurb about it at: http://www.alexisparkinn.com/valentine's_day_2004.htm There's hope yet! -- Jay Honeck Iowa City, IA Pathfinder N56993 www.AlexisParkInn.com "Your Aviation Destination" |

I notice a few of the folks taking the ride were of the ... ahem ... corn fed variety {;-) And I didn't know you had your CFI, Jay. How did they log it as a lesson? Jim "Jay Honeck" shared these priceless pearls of wisdom: And at least half of the couples opted to have one or the -other of them sit up front, and log it as an actual flight lesson. - - -http://www.alexisparkinn.com/valentine's_day_2004.htm - -There's hope yet! Well, Jim, there's a Cessna that seems to figure rather prominently in those photos, and IIRC, Jay has a big Piper. Perhaps the Cessna comes with its own pilot? http://www.alexisparkinn.com/valentine's_day_2004.htm There's hope yet! I see they got a new 172SP since I rented at IOW over the holidays. Their previous 172R needed a bit of help (tumbling horizon and alternator issues). Still it was a great sightseeing flight for relatives over the Iowa campus... Glad to hear their was so much public interest. Eric Bartsch |

The rides were conducted in two BRAND new Cessnas -- one with just 43 hours on the tach! It's still a Skyhawk, but boy, it sure smells good! (Certainly better than the clapped-out old 172s I used to rent...) :-) -- Jay Honeck Iowa City, IA Pathfinder N56993 www.AlexisParkInn.com "Your Aviation Destination" |

I'm very disappointed that you only flew to 2,000' and not 5,280' !!!
On second thought you probably avoid some embarrassment.... "Jay Honeck" wrote in message newsKOXb.188043$U%5.932639@attbi_s03... Don't count G.A. out just yet.
