Default Garmin GPS Question!

Hi guys,

Can anyone tell me.. if I have a GPSMAP296 with an Atlantic basemap, can
I install the Pacific database on the unit for use in Australia ??

Are there limitations doing so ??

Any other relevant information I should know ??

thanks in advance,

Might try sci.geo.satellite-nav. Lots of people knowledgeable about nuts and
bolts there.

There might not be any point. Check to see if there are Australian
airports in the database already. When I took my ancient Garmin 195
to Australia (with the North America maps), it worked just fine. The
coast line and all the airports were in the database. As our Aussie
tour guide pointed out there isn't any ground features to chart in
most of the continent anyhow.

Yes you can. No limitations, you can download Jeppesen data from the
Garmin website for US$35.
