Default Evan T8 questions on CN Vario

Do ALL the current features work on the new vario?

Does the electronic total energy work? Are all filters(features)enabled for electronic TE?

Or does it require a TE probe for to to currently work and are all filters(features)enabled?

When all features are enabled(?)what is preferred... A TE probe or electronic TE?

Need a new vario and I am hearing great things about the CN Vario, so just asking.

Thanks, #711.

Hi Tom,

What ships today is a "paleo" CNv-Club. No electronic TE, no GPS, no wind, just vario/audio/netto/speed to fly. But we're pleased with the performance of the functionality so far released. See online manual here for paleo club vario http://www.clearnav.net/main/cn-vario_manual.html

Very soon (target release date is Mar 31) all CNv users will get (software) upgraded to Club as described here http://www.clearnav.net/main/cn-vario.html Electronic TE or probe and tunable, wind, simple GPS (final glide to home).

XC version also described in that document is an additional software upgrade on same hardware, adds comm port, waypoint database and point to point final glide, all-flights secure flight recorder, also coming soon.

Updated software now being tested at Seminole. More news about that before too long.
