Well, I got a new idea as of Saturday morning. We had a nice morning trip
up to Sedona for breakfast. Life is good: cold, calm air, plane's running
good, good company at the restaurant. Then we fire up to come home, and all
of a sudden, the Attitude Indicator doesn't know which way is up anymore!
About 10 minutes after takeoff it had figured it out, but this is not good.
So, it's time for a new gyro.

Mike

What are you hoping to find in YOUR stocking on Christmas morn?

That a certain poster will stop posting irrelevant things to the
rec.aviation newsgroups...

Perhaps it is too much to ask.

It is odd that you celebrate Christmas though - given your rantings about
Christians and religions...

Ho, ho, ho....!

Me, I'm asking Santa for a new, solid-state transponder -- which is about

as
dull as socks & underwear, but the third digit on mine keeps going wacky
once in while. I *hate* it when ATC thinks I've set my squawk code
wrong...

What are you hoping to find in YOUR stocking on Christmas morn?

2000 gallons of avgas.

How 'bout mogas instead? :-)

(I just checked a couple of days ago -- we've pumped over 2300 gallons out
of the "Mighty Grape" since buying/building it in November 2002. At a
savings of over a buck a gallon, well... It's pretty much like getting a
Christmas present! :-)

I've already bought my wife a knot meter for the boat. Mothing new for
the
plane. I'm still recovering from the 430 last year.

What the heck is a "knot meter"? A speedometer? (Or, more correctly, a
"water-speed indicator"?)

Don't boats come with those things standard?

2 blondes and a brunet

that serve peanuts in short skirts and "hooters" shirts.....oh wait,
that already exists for a small fee to Hooters Airlines, and you can
even drink on the flight.

Hmm. That's more of a Thanksgiving (wishbone) type wish - shooting star
territory maybe, or perhaps something for a wishing-well.

This is a Christmas list.

"You know, jingle bells and deck them halls and ho ho ho and presents for
pretty girls??"

Stocking stuffer?
Something under the tree ...or next to the Festivus pole?
Something out in the [hangar] wrapped with a big red bow?

Your choice.

Peace on Earth has already been scooped up g

A fully paid-for glass panel 2004 Cessna 182. Hey, I can dream, can't
I?

Uh, Jay didn't rant (much) about Christians and religions, that was
other folks. He just had a problem with proselytizers well outside the
midwestern norm for genteel casino lunch-eating, was my take.

That kind of sounds like me. I am tempted to tell my wife that I want a
brand new Cessna 172SP fully loaded. Knowing her she would get me one...in a
small cardboard box made out of plastic with a note: "some assembly
required". :-).

Happy Hollidays, everyone. Have fun flying but stay safe.
