Default Russian Grand Prix - my reports

Hey everyone,
What do you get when you take 14 Russian glider pilots, Tim McAllister,
and a new form of sailplane racing? The Qualification Grand Prix of
Russia, of course! We are here at Drakino Airfield, about 100 km south
of Moscow, competing in the GP which runs throuhg August 9.

I am updating the blog as usual (and as often as service
permits...which is more often than you would think). The address is:
www.susanmcallister.blogspot.com

We had our first official day yesterday, and Tim came in 6th. An OK
start for his third-ever flight in the Jantar.

I'd love to hear from you all, so please do post comments on the blog
if you wish.

Please keep fingers crossed (or hold your thumbs, if you are German)
for better weather in the coming days.

Default Russian Grand Prix - my reports

Susan and Tim,

Your post, and your first-class web page, make for great reading. I
went to the Russian TV link that you provided and had a good time
knowing that there was much for me to learn (like how to speak
Russian). Your photos are fun: more, please.

It sounds like you two know how to get around even without speaking
Russian. Your host and his family are good people to be so helpful to
you and Tim. My favorite stresser was the part about you going into
town and getting cell phone numbers. Wow, I would have lost it at just
figuring out how to get to town.

Please say hello to Tim for me. We flew side-by-side for a few miles at
Hobbs last year; so as long as he doesn't fly like me, he'll do his
usual good job.
