It just seemed to me that a 2-letter prefix would hasten the search for
a particular wire without going through 100-200 Numbers only

Unless you worked on said wires every day, it would still necessitate
looking at the wires with a chart in your hand, to remember what DB and DE
actually run to.

That being the case, if you are using colored shrink tube, just put it like
it is on the chart. No translating necessary.
