Looking for good brake masters for homebuilt project.
Just wondering if anyone has a good set of used brake masters
gathering dust that they'd like to sell reasonably. Needed for 2 seater side-by side using 6" Cessna wheels and brakes. Prefer 4 cyls for full dual control, but either a pair of integral reservoir or external reservoir cyls would be a start. Need to ship to Ontario Canada - Canadian source preferred but not essential. Thanks. |

IMO, this has several advantages: 1. lighter weight (possibly). 2. fewer fittings and connections to leak. 3. a LOT easier to bleed the air out of the system. 4. two less cylinders to malfunction and maintain. Rich S. Thought of that - if a tandem it would be a no-brainer. I doubt the linkage could be built "much" lighter, if at all, than a second set of cyls. It would be much more complex, with more chance of failure. Bleeding bottom up solves the bleeding problem. |

B&B aircraft supply has new surplus Gerdes long stroke master cylinders available, and the price was $95/pair when I bought a set last summer. These are the cylinders recommended for use with the Bearhawk, which is designed to use 6.00-6 Cleveland wheels. They are also identical to the cylinders used in older Citabrias with heel brakes, right down to the part number printed on the side. They require a remote reservoir.
