Default Busy busy monitoring day in Florida, Georgia

The Military is conducting fairly large exercises offshore northern
Florida today, and comms can be heard all over the 225-400 MHz range.
Beginning at 8:14am EST (1314z), AWACS "Darkstar Quebec" was up with
Sealord on 267.5 announcing the acft he would be controlling. First, there was
a four-ship vs a two-ship in ACM (dogfighting) involving WARHAWK F/A-18s from
Lemoore's VFA-97 vs FANGs and HAWKs. At 1800-1900z a four-ship flight of Dutch
Air Force F-16s will be up; and from 1830z-1930z it will be FANGs vs HAWKs
again.
The Lemoore boys are here from California and will be TDY for a while. Their
use of the WARHAWK callsign, instead of the HAWK callsign, will enable us to
distinguish them from the HAWK F/A-18s of Beaufort's VMFA(AW)-533.
DARKSTAR QUEBEC has also requested that Sealord relay to DOUBLESHOT (Shaw
AFB, SC). For their ACM vs FANGs, the WARHAWKs will be up with DARKSTAR
QUEBEC on 261.2. Other acft are being heard on 317.6
GOLIATH ALPHA, another E-3 AWACs (from Tinker AFB's 552ACW 960ACS) will be
working in the offshore W-158A, B, and C areas from 1630z to 1830z with SHARK
21 four-ship flight, MAKO 11 single acft, AKULA 31 flight of two out of
Homestead JARB, and LOBO 01 flight of four, and KC-135 tanker BOLT (from
MacDill AFB).
GOLIATH is now awaiting the acft to check in on 320.6. He is also up with
Sealord on 267.5.
Good time to be searching the 225-400 MHz range, guys. Buddies of mine are
hearing these comms all over Florida and into Georgia.
