Turns out that another unexpected benefit of being a glider pilot is that you're thoroughly prepared for coronavirus. Got the oxygen set, the oximeter, the N95 masks and nitrile gloves from the last time you did fibreglass work ...all set :-) A typical glider oxygen bottle may not last the many days that recovery will need. But in an emergency, a home oxyacetylene system would probably provide a long-term oxygen supply if hooked up to a MH pulse regulator. |

"a home oxyacetylene system"
??????? Uh, I think it would be wiser to keep the acetylene cylinder closed. It really isn't that good for long-term health. Or short term, for that matter. |

There is a mismatch between the hourly rate for the club two-seaters on the fleet page and the fees page. Also, CGC moved to a smooth liability coverage a while back, I seem to recall that they also moved to self-insure their hulls, meaning members will probably require renter/non-owner coverage of some minimal amount. One chapter I'm aware of requires $30,000 minimum coverage.. I'd be surprised if it were that low for the K-21s and Duo Discus. That would easily add $500 or more to the annual cost of "membership" for the non-owner member. Perhaps someone direct knowledge of this will comment. Frank Whiteley |
