Default Barbers Point NAS

Go to www.G2mil.com for more dope on base closings. there are lots and
lots of rinkydink little bases that can be closed to make that 25%
look great. Also, as a result of Vieques shutting down, Rosey Roads is
due for the axe.

This vanity site's reflections on BRAC are based on one man's rather poorly
informed opinion. He stumbles into some pretty good recommendations. He
also stumbles onto some pretty bad ones.

Where do attack weenies go to drop live ordnance now? On the east coast?

Too bad about Rosy, good flying out of there during workups...'tent city
transitions'....

Sounds reminiscent of what befell Sand Point NAS, here in Washington
State. The base was closed and handed over to civilian control. It's
taken many years for any sort of concrete plans to develop for how the
area should be used, and meanwhile it's steadily deteriorated. One
hopes the old brick officers quarters and administration buildings
will be maintained and put to good use.

The eco-Nazis in Seattle managed to spike plans to make Sand Point into
a nice, much-needed general aviation airport.
