Default Colibri data recorder date error

I tried to post a recent flight to the OLC only to have it rejected due an improper date being associated with the flight. It showed as 1999 as the year and from what I have read and been told this has something to do with the Colibri GPS engine not being able to register the date from the GPS satellites.

Has anyone had a similar occurrence and if so what was the fix? Has anyone shipped the Colibri to LX for repair and at what cost?

Cheers,
Mike

Some older loggers, PNAs etc got thrown by the GPS epoch rollover earlier
this year - its only the second time the date has rolled over since the
GPS service started. You need to talk to LX about a fix.

Quite right!

But it is LX Navigation (www.lxnavigation.com) you need,
not LXV (http://www.lxnav.com/), different companies.

The problem is (usually) that the sustainer battery on the GPS Engine has
expired, and forgetten what the current GPS Epoch is, so it goes bach to
Epoch 0, 6th Jan 1999.

Has anybody written a utility program that can reset the epoch counter?

I'm thinking about WinCE-based PNAs here, specifically the Medion S.3747
which I'm running LK8000 on: it doesn't seem totally unreasonable that
such a program might exist for hand-held systems running the formerly
ubiquitous WinCE.

If you're just using it for OLC, there are free apps that run on tablets
or smart phones that are good enough.

If you need a certified logger, the cost of repair may well make a new
logger look attractive, having much more memory and being easier to use.

If you are reaching out for repair the Colibri is sold by LXNavigation and not by LXNav who sell the functionally similar Nano line of flight recorders.

I would contact one of the sellers of LXNavigation equipment to see what that might know.
