Glider Model - Blaue Maus- 1922 Wasserkuppe Glider
1922 Blaue Maus Model (Blue Mouse)
Fiddler's Green specializes in downloadable scale models made from paper or index cardstock. On Fridays they issue a new model. This week's is their first in a series of classic sailplanes. www.fiddlersgreen.net/ Excerpt: "1922 Blaue Maus Model (Blue Mouse) Built by the students and Teacher Wolfgang Klemperer Technical University of Aachen (Germany) the Blaue Maus training glider for the first time, utilized fully cantlevered wings (self supporting wings that did not rely on external struts or bracing). Another distinctive feature was the forward and massive landing gear struts on which ash skids were mounted. This beautiful glider smacks of that 1920s big, bold aeronautical style and is well worth the look.. " All of their 300+ models can be downloaded and printed out on 8.5 x 11 card stock (aka coverstock) available from any Office Max/Office Depot etc. store. Download the pdf file, print, cut out with scissors, glue together in about an evening - maybe two. |

Glider Model - Blaue Maus- 1922 Wasserkuppe Glider
Hi,
This week's is their first in a series of classic sailplanes. I have designed card models of a few more modern gliders: http://www.marian-aldenhoevel.de/ (In german. Click the links with the familiar names and then the PDF-Link at the bottom. Instructions are currently only available in german, too) The kit for the Duo Discus includes only the parts that are different between D-KBPP and D-2925. You need to download and print Jan Müller's D-KBPP for a complete model. I have the models suspended from the ceiling where they thermal slowly in any draft. Most distracting. Marian,
I've seen the Duo Discus, Swift, and Slingsby sailplane model on Jan Müller's site, but I had no idea that anyone had done the ASK-13, ASK-21, ASW-24 and LS4. These are all outstanding models! More than one night's work, but beautiful when complete. (Wie sagt mann "Pfundig!" auf English?) Thanks for sharing the link.
