Buscombe Down for testing. It was called the Mustang MkI (dive
bomber) by the RAF. Allother RAF Mustangs were P-51 variants.

Agreed about the A-36. Perhaps we have the same book!

The Mustang I did have two .5s below the engine, plus .5s and .3s (or
possibly .303s, sources differ) in the wings.

It is a MkI Air Ministry Number AG500 of No. 2 Squadron, she crashed
on a hill near Kimmeridge, Dorset 26 May 1943.

AG345 to AG664 were NA-73 Mustang Mk I.
