Default lifting off...

I didn't take my new plane to the show this weekend.
It just wasn't ready yet.

But I finally got it back out on the runway today.

Yesterday, I raised the leading edge of the stab about 5/8".

Today I made half a dozen runs to take off speed, rolling the
full length of the runway on the mains.

After the first couple I could stand up, ease in some speed, and
skim along the top of the grass for a few seconds at a time.

The last pass was a (actually the first ever!)
maximum power acceleration
to liftoff speed.

Three (count 'em!) seconds to lift off.

And it's accelerating s t r o n g at that point!

I have things to do to her, (painting, still, I hate painting)
and the grass is a bit deep on the runway. (green prop tips)

So I'll wait until it gets mowed before going again.

But all in all?

Sweet!

Richard
