Vario setup
Currently have a Winter Mechanical (never look at it) and a Borgelt
B40 (love it) with a Volkslogger (hate it) that I don't use into an IPAQ/SeeYou that runs from a Keychain GPS (bluetooth and works great). I'm looking to upgrade and simplify and am leaning to removing the volkslogger, keeping the keychain GPS as a back-up, removing the Winter and using the B40 as the back-up vario (I have a Lithium 9v back-up battery installed on it) and getting a Borgelt B500 as an upgraded vario/gps solution. Love to hear comments from people with more experience than I in these matters. Thanks, Brian |

Vario setup
I love my B40 as a backup vario. I traded out my winter for it a few
years ago after having a power problem take out my main vario about 100 miles from home. After flying home with just the winter it traded it for the B40 so that I would have an audio if that happened again. I change out the 9V battery every year when I do the annual. I installed the averager switch for the b40 so normally I just use it as an averager but if my main vario fails and I can switch it over to the vario mode. Brian HP16T N16VP |
