Default Tuning up for Uvalde at Marfa

And as a special treat, Burt has arranged a meteor shower this week, which ought to
be spectacular in the dark skies around Marfa. They've got the world's third largest
telescope in nearby Fort Davis at the McDonald Observatory to take advantage of
the clear, dark skies of SW Texas.

Oh, and great flying too last week. Consistent conditions, very few rain showers in
the afternoon, and great facilities at an unbusy muni airport. This is going to be my
favorite late-season flying site, since it's generally off to the side of the monsoonal flow.
Just wish he could move it about 500 miles closer to civilization. But then it wouldn't
be Marfa.

Dave

"Marfa Gliders" welcomes Charlie Spratt, John Good, Bob Epps, Ray Gimmey,
Wilfried Krueger, and John Byrd back to Marfa as they relax here after Hobbs
and tune-up for Uvalde.

Big sky, big thermals, big hangar, big RV park on the Marfa airport. We've got
room for more!

Now towing year-round.

Civilization? Closer to B,C,D airspace, airplane pilots doing touch &
go's, biz jets not knowing how to yield right-of-way, stoplights,
people in a hurry? No, we'll stay remote in Marfa, and free to soar
the wide open skies of aviation-friendly west Texas. If you visit
us, drive/fly-in via El Paso. That's where our closest
Wal-Mart(civilization?)is located, and Kathie has a shopping list of
things we want you to pick up for us! Only 180 miles from ELP to
Marfa, a three hour "short-drive" by Texas standards.

Seriously David, thanks for the nice comments and come soar with us
again.

Tows available year-round. Hangar space, trailer storage, RV hookups
on airport, rental cottage, Towpilot Checkouts, Flight Reviews, FAA
Checkrides.

Anything you need here, we can get via Fedex. Y'all come back now!
