Hands up if you can't hear me....

The Online Relays Database (ORDB.org) was an anti-spammer database that
ISPs and mail administrators would refer incoming emails to - to protect
their users from spam.

For whatever reason, it was shut down in late 2006, it's role was still
carried on by other servers, such as spamlist.org. So for the last
18 months, any database queries of ORDB would just bounce back to the
mailserver.

Apparently, ORDB was started up again about 4 days ago.

"Big furry dogl" I hear you say.

The only difference is that now, it's returning ALL queries on the database
back as positive spam results. (No I don't know why either)

Any mailserver or ISP that still has an automatic query to ORDB will take
action against all
incoming email under its spam protocols - regardless of origin, or purpose.

Check the following article for more details.

Oddly, about that time I saw an 80% reduction in spam, but no
reduction in genuine email.
