You already have.

Welcome to the group, you'll fit in with the rest of the low lifes here.

In simpler terms, Ron said that postings from newsgroups that typically
have binaries aren't archived very long on news servers. Take a look at how
far back your news server has postings from rec.aviation.homebuilt vs how
far back it has postings from alt.binaries.pictures.aviation. My news
server has rec.aviation.homebuilt messages going back into July.
alt.binaries.pictures.aviation only goes back to August 18th.

Depends on YOUR particular news server.

Giganews currently has RAH messages back at least to January 2003.

Bill has been chastised by several folks.

HEY SENT YOU AN E-MAIL - AS WELL !!!!!!!!!!

Ron............Tch, Tch, Tch.!!!!!!!!

Well Phill.... YES - posting binaries to a non binary group
is considered a netiquette NO NO and like it or not you
got your fingers gently rapped and learned a netiquette
lesson in the process.

It's not a big deal so don't sweat it.

But sending an unsolicited E-mail as Mr. Natilie did is also considered
by many to be a breach of netiquette.

That aside.

IN THIS GROUP there is one individual named Bill Phillips who posts
binaries whenever he feels like it. And he is a well known regular.

And I don't recall anybody ever chastising him for doing so.

TO THE GROUP - Correct me if I am wrong.

Ron Natalie and his wife Margy are very well known regulars in this
group and when Ron chastised you the other day I decided to stick
my tongue on the post and point out to Mr. Natalie that I had never
seen him chastise Bill Phillips for doing the same thing.

Mr. Natalie's response was to claim that he doesn't follow the
postings or transgresions of Bill Phillips. Personally I find that
incredibly hard to believe.

I point out that yesterday someone else posted a binary to
this group and Mr Natalie was conspicuous by his silence.

But then maybe he chastised him by E-mail instead.

That's why I never, ever, ever use a valid e-mail addy in this
or any other group.

Sincerely,
This group's favourite Bunion - Bernie

I said I didn't recall and obviously you do - so I defer to your
recollection of the facts.

I stand corrected and thank you Warren for setting the record straight.

Well Pacy.... That's the difference between you and me.

I just think your Bill's sock puppet, and if the best way you can think
of trying to denigrate me is to refer to me as a cripple when virtually
everyone in this group is well aware by now that I am physically
handicapped.... then have at it

Comments like that are more a reflection on you than me.

The more you post the more you sound just like Bill.

If people make a habit of posting binaries we risk having
our servers start only keeping a few days of messages.

Kevin I agree with you one hundred percent.

But without trying to prolong this thread or sound totally argumentative
I will presume that the next time Bill Phillips posts a binary here that
you and Ron Natalie will lead the pack in publicly pointing out his
transgression from acceptible netiquette.

That is not likely to happen, as I don't see anything that Bill Phillips
posts. I used to enjoy reading his stuff many years ago, when he was in
the habit of posting some great aviation related stuff. But then his
signal to noise ratio plummeted, and his postings became too venomous for
my liking, so he was the second RAHer to hit my kill file.

Well considering you can read MY posts I will presume
that I wasn't number one.

And with any luck I won't be number three also.

How's the power grid down in that neck of the woods,
back to normal or still a little dodgey....?????

Pac sezs:

I had no intention of denigrating (sp?) you at all Bernie. Sometimes
it's just hard to out-troll the troll that's all. Just had to figure
a way to get under your skin. And now you know what its like someone
taking unfair shots about your language, your past posts, etc, etc.

Bernie, I did not know that you are indeed disabled. From your
reaction, I do now believe you are not just trolling for once, and are
telling the truth. I filtered you out for years so, I must have
missed that part. Maybe I mixed you up with Bertie the Bunion, I
don't know (its hard to keep track of nemisis marauders that like a
bad penny, keep turning up, stirring up hard feelings between
posters.)

Now that I have your attention consider this:

I am sincerely sorry for making fun of your disability. It was a low
shot, but the only way I could think of to verify what your saying.
Now, I regret it. But as a fellow cripple, I felt I could indeed go
that far. I am indeed sorry. Now ask yourself, would BWB appologize
like this? Either way you loose Bernie. If your answer is no, then
I'm not his sock puppet. If your answer is yes, then you were most
certainly wrong about the man.

WoW.
Speaking for yourself, Ron, or just slumming
out of curiosity and amusement?

I'd hate to think this is a bit of despicable contempt
from a self appointed/annointed higher life form.

Well Pacplyer I can tell you in all honesty that having
anyone make fun of someone's disability is never fun
when your on the receiving end.

But for those on the giving end it always seems like
fun at the time.

It was a low shot, but the only way I could think of to verify
what your saying. Now, I regret it.

Don't sweat it, your not the first to make fun of my disability
in this newsgroup and in all likliehood you won't be the last.

But as a fellow cripple, I felt I could indeed go
that far.

Pacplyer..... I'm physically handicapped as a result of a surgeons
decision to sacrifice nerve roots to my lower limbs in order to save
my life. I've never considered myself to be a cripple.

And I have never felt the urge to "go that far" based on a
person's physical or mental abilities.

I am indeed sorry.

I'm sorry that you also suffer from a disability.

Hopefully it does not stop you from enjoying some semblance
of a quality life especially as it pertains to aviation.

My disability unfortunately stopped me from becoming a pilot
dead in my tracks, but it has not stopped me from time to time
sitting in the right seat and getting some stick time.
