Default SSA scholarship news (USA)

This would be more appropriate on a subset of news.ssa.org, I guess, but I'm
not positive those newsgroups are online. Anyway, the nice update from 2003
Bultman winner Brad Towne in the Sept. SOARING (p. 4) reminds me to pass on
some notes:

KOLSTAD: USA Citizen, SSA member, Silver Badge (or 100km) pilots 20 and
under, we want to hear from you by October 1 to be recognized as the role
model you are! Our committee fielded a record 10 applications 2 years ago
but only a handful last year. Best wishes to founders Mid and Ken Kolstad
who have retired from active management of the program, as has superb
support person Arleen Coleson. Marge Kolstad will be joining her brother
Ralph in judging, and recently spread the word at Oshkosh.

BULTMAN: Congratulations to Jeff McGuire of Aero Club Albatross and Yards
Creek Soaring in Blairstown, NJ. He is the latest to join our list of
exemplary ground crew youngsters, and to get a little stipend he can
guilelessly spend on personal soaring.

CONTEST: We were happy to ease the financial burden a little bit for a few
young pilots trying to progress in contest soaring. Kevin Christner, Vit
Hradecky, Mike Westbrook, and Mitch Bauer made strides this year, and the
bulk of the thanks should go to their mentors Doug Jacobs, Tim Mara, Sam
Fly, and Marv Willis.

The SSA newsgroups are still running, but aren't very active. Might as
well post it there, too.

Point news client at news.ssa.org

No longer appear to be links from the SSA web site.
