Default Ducted Fan Design

Any good online resources concerning the design of ducted fans? Hoping to
one day acquire a text on ducted fan design. I've used search engines just
wanting to know if there is something uber-good that I've missed. Thanx.

The main thing you need to know is that ducted fans are simply not worth
the effort -- and, for high speeds -- add more drag than unducted
propellers.

Check model aircraft sources. They have used engine driven ducted fans
for years.

Not sure what you want (rpm speed, tip clearance, etc.) but you may be
able to adapt something there to your requirements (or at least get a
start)?

I just went to Google and searched for "Ducted Fans" and found lots of
info.

Check this one out:
http://www89.pair.com/techinfo/MassFlow/ductbook.htm

As this book says, The main advantages of ducted fans are at either low or
high speeds.

My own interest in ducts relates to amphibians. The ides is to get the best
performance from the propulsion system at the point where I need it the
most, getting off the water. After that, a little reduction in performance
might be tolerated.

Besides, It'd look COOL!
