If this allows use of PowerFlarm for the GPS input and interfaces with
PDAs running LK800 or XCSoar it's a very attractive option.

Looking forward to seeing the manual.

Thanks,

Just talked to Richard about the V7....................this will go in
to my panel eventually. I really like the idea of pitot/static driven
wind calculations, since like Tony, my purely driven GPS wind is not
really that accurate and not at all on final glide.

Anyone looking for a nice SB-8??

Craig,

I did about 15 hours of flight testing this fall with a similar
setup. PowerFlarm, LX1606 (similar to the V7), Craggy Aero
Ultimate Le, SeeYou PNA. It worked great. The software only shows
PF target at this time. Programming on the flight software will be
require to show the PCAS and ADS-B targets. LK8000 and StrePla will
also show flarm targets.

System examples see:

http://www.craggyaero.com/ultimate_systems.htm

I am sure it will work equally as well with the Oudie, PDA, or PNA
devices.

thanks,

Richard

Thanks Richard,

That's very encouraging for those of us looking to move into more
modern gear without breaking the bank.

Can the V7 be combined with a Colibri and an Oudie?
I know that the Colibri and the Oudie communicate well and allow for
task declaration from the Oudie to the Colibri and igc download from
Colibri to the Oudie.
Will this work if I connect a V7 between them?
Thank you!

SeeYou Mobile has a menu just for configuring the LX1600.
Can that menu be used also for the V7 or Naviter will have to release an update?

EF,

I think it might require some programming. I sent an email to both
LXNAV and Naviter to find out.

Hi,

If I remember correctly, the LX1600 did not have any control knobs or other
user-interface - therefore it was necessary to configure it and change the
MacCready on it with a PDA.

Since the LXNAV V7 has a knob / push button user-interface that can do all
setup and in-flight changes, there is no need for SeeYou to have a special
setup menu for it.

Paul,

Many things can be change on the Old LX1600 & New LX1606 on two
pages of the SeeYou Mobile software. Pushing buttons and twirling
knobs is very tedious in comparison. The V7 also has two way
communication with the software so it would make sense that pages of
SeeYou may be developed to set up the V7. I beleive the V7 will need
to be defined as an input Device for the SeeYou software, so that will
require some programming. This is the case with other variometers
such as the CAI 302, Tasman, Borgelt, Westerboer, etc.

For those that don't use in flight navigation software it is nice that
the settings can be changed with the knob. But their are many
advantages to setup pages in the software.

Polar. MC +/- & Vol +/- is also much easier to change in the SeeYou
software by Nav Boxes. Especially when you have a large sunlight
readable screen like the Ultimate Le. No need to go two places for
changes.

Lets see what LXNAV & SeeYou say before jumping to conclusions.

Does the same apply to the new little Colibri 11?

If so that would make it a much better match that the Nano as it would
be a nuisance to have to remove the Nano and hand it over to control
for scoring or to have to transfer the flight log to a card via a
PC. Much more desirable to download the log through the V7 to a card
in a PDA. It would be ironic if the LX Navigation company data
recorder were to be a better match for an LX NAV company variometer
than their own data recorder!
