BD- LSA
I sent an email to BedeCorp, not really expecting a reply, but
was pleasantly surprised by a response. I asked if somewhere between the BD-4, and the BD-6, a LSA variant might be lie? Jim Bede's answer is that he hoped to have a new LSA at Oshkosh. I was hoping it was a planbuilt since the -4,and-6 are but didn't inquire further. I know Jim Bede's name is very polarizing, but to my knowledge, he has had no big problems with plans only designs. I know Jim Bede's name is very polarizing, but to my knowledge, he has had no big problems with plans only designs. J.G. From their website: BedeCorp LLC has entered into a licensed agreement with Exosphere Aircraft Company Inc. out of Seattle, Washington. They plan to manufacture and market a Light Sports Aircraft designated the BD-22. The BD-22 is derived from the two place BD-18 with a larger wing. The wing is essentially the all-metal BD-4 wing. This permits the BD-22 to meet the stall requirements of the LSA. Exosphere is developing their own website for this aircraft that should be available soon. The current mailing address is as follows: Exosphere Aircraft Company 2201 6th Avenue, Ste 1222 Seattle, WA 98121 The BD-22 has a very solid durable and maintenance free bonded structure. It also offers an exceptionally large cabin with baggage space for two sets of golf clubs. 28 April 2008 We are sorry to say, our agreement with Exosphere Aircraft has never been completed. We were in complete agreement on a written document, which required an initial payment, followed by further payments at certain milestones, with a minimum annual royalty. Exosphere did make a partial payment for the initial amount, but has not made any further installments towards the agreement. Unfortunately we have not been able to contact anyone within the organization to learn of their further intent or involvement with this project. After six months of no contact we have to assume that they are unable to go any further. We are still very proud of the BD-22 design and feel that it would make an excellent light sport aircraft. ================================================== = Somehow it sounds so very familar. |
