Default Final glide Dick Beck

On 9 November Dick Beck passed away aged 89 years.

He was a founder member of the Drakensberg Soaring Club, being the CFI for many
years and remaining an active member all his life.

Dick's many achievements include two altitude records, set in August 1977 at
Underberg. D-1 Altitude gain (9652m), and D-1 absolute altitude (11,640m) in his
K6e. These records still stand twenty nine years later.

We will miss his "war stories" and wry humour. Soaring has lost a pioneer, and a
special person.
