Default Nice Winch Weekend in 29 Palms CA

Just a loud note of "thanks" to the 29 Palms Soaring Club for hosting
OCSA this last weekend. 29 Palms (TNP) is a small club with a huge
runway/facility that doesn't toot its horn loudly enough. The local
government put in alot of money into the runways and the traffic is
minimal...perfect for soaring. Spring and Fall excell with a summer
that "cooks". The club runs "AWAT" - All Winch All the Time...but
occasionally hires a towplane.

This place could easily handle a large contest.

Together we did about 30 winch launches with thermals low enough to
hook up.

They invite soaring visitors to come try their winch or to coordinate
a towplane. Contact Mike J at 760-898-8263 to make it happen.

Thank you Don, Mike, Neil, and everyone else at 29 Palms!

That really sounds like fun! I'll be calling Mike in the next couple
weeks! It doesn't look like a bad drive from Jean, NV either.
