Default orange red nose color

I have a early Ventus and it came with a orange/red nose and tip paint. Where can I find the matching color of that paint? I have a few scrapes that I want to touch up.

Easiest is likely to take your trailer to the local auto paint store and see if they have a portable color scanner.

DG lists the paint color codes in the POH. Have you checked their?

Oops!

Make that "their" their's, i.e., the one that came with your ship.

The color is probably an RAL color. Perhaps 3024. It is a european color system. Check with auto paint suppliers.

I see the 3024, was this a guess or did you know someone who had a ventus or SH glider?

Was it factory applied paint? Have you contacted SH? Might be worth an email.

Be aware that those colours fade out in sunlight, so touching up with
"fresh" colour might be detectable for a few years. I would consider
repainting the whole nose/wingtip instead.

Dennis, the maintenance manual for my Ventus 2CX states

Orange - (RAL-Code No. 2004) or Red (RAL-Code No. 3000 or 3024)

This is a 2004 manual
