Default Travolta downsizing?

This taken from today's AOPA E-Pilot:

ACTOR JOHN TRAVOLTA AMONG NEW ECLIPSE 500 OWNERS
Eclipse Aviation CEO Vern Raburn updated NBAA guests on the status of
the company's production process. So far, the Albuquerque, N.M.,
manufacturer has produced 52 of its Eclipse 500 very light jets,
including one delivered to actor John Travolta. Air Taxi operator
DayJet has taken delivery of 12 airplanes and will receive seven more
in the next couple of weeks. The production rate stands at about one a
day currently; higher rates will be phased in over the next year. The
Eclipse training program has turned out 98 type-rated pilots so far.
Certification of the Avio NG avionics suites is scheduled for mid-
November.

Maybe he's feeling the pinch of high fuel costs to feed his 707? Or
his neighbors are tired of the noise from his GII? speculation off

It's downsizing if the new Eclipse replaces an aircraft. He could simply be
adding to his fleet.

707? It must take a Olympic pool full of fuel just to take
off that beast. 707's were designed in the day of 9 cents a
gallon JP-4. Ouch his fuel bill must be sky high!

I rode on a 707 back in 1962. Pan-Am from Miami to Panama
City Panama. I was only 5 years old. I still got my little
Pan-Am wings.

I wonder if he ever took delivery on his $10-million Zeppelin?

Travolta buys Zeppelin for christmas [sic]
Hollywood superstar and aviation enthusiast JOHN TRAVOLTA has bought
himself an $11 million (#6 million) Zeppelin airship for Christmas
(04).

The PULP FICTION star, who is a qualified pilot, told wife KERRY
PRESTON he "had to have" one of the eight ton flying machines after
spotting it in a festive catalogue from American department store
NEIMAN MARCUS.

A source says, "John was blown away by it and told Kelly he had to
have one. He can't wait to fly it, but she's told him he won't get it
until Christmas day."

The airship will be the third plane 49-year-old star owns.
He already has a $83 million (#46 million) Boeing 707 and a Gultstream
executive jet at his Florida home, which is designed to look like an
old-fashioned airport with runways, arrivals hall and a departure
lounge.

part of his Christmas celebrations.

Be the first on your block (or in the world for that matter) to
privately own a modern Zeppelin NT.

• A famous first of German ingenuity when it was launched in 1900, the
iconic transportation genius of Count Ferdinand Graf von Zeppelin has
achieved another milestone.
• Re-engineered with the best new technology, your Zeppelin is the
first modern airship licensed to carry commercial passengers.
• It floats with safe, non-flammable helium contained in an inner
envelope of high-strength multi-layered material.
• The roomy cabin features panoramic window views of the clouds above
and sights below.
• Can comfortably accommodate 11 pipers, a couple of lab assistants, a
pilot, and a flight attendant (15 total).
• With its lightweight aluminum and carbon-fiber framework, three
200-hp engines, and swivel propellers, you can take off and land
easily, like a helicopter.
• It can achieve 70 knots and has a flight duration of up to 24 hours.
• You'll want to plan ahead for parking; your eight-ton sky gem will
be around 230 feet long, 60 feet wide, and 53 feet tall.

Nieman Marcus Chirstmas Catalog's Fantasy Gifts section the high end

Zeppelin Luftschifftechnik Gmblt & Co KG, is taking orders for the
Zeppelin NT. The Zeppelin NT, filled with non flammable helium, is the

sit 15 total (including the pilot), is driven by three 200hp engines
and swivel propellers, can reach a maximum altitude of 2,600 meters

Travolta recently purchased one.

Interesting that both artcles misspelled his lovely wife's name. Her name is
Kelly not Kerry.
