Need Help Configuring Power FLARM Portable
If you have a mode S transponder (or ADS-B out) you need to give FLARM the same ID that is used in the transponder (your ICAO ID), then it won't warn you about it.

Need Help Configuring Power FLARM Portable
When we met up north of Leyba on today's flight, I was getting a dual return from your ship. Apparently, one was Flarm and the other was ADS-B. No problem, though. It was just a bit unusual.

The suspicion then is the PowerFLARM does not have the correct ICAO address of the glider in its configuration file, we know the ADS-B is correct, because it's a certified install that had a performance report pulled. |

I'm seeing extra traffic as well. I have modeS + flarm. If I'm near other GA aircraft and do a quick pullup into a thermal, I get a buddy within 100 feet of me.
I wonder if the path from my ModeS to the ground to the other GA's ADSB, which my flarm picks, up has enough delay so it shows where I was as another aircraft. |

I don't recall getting a return from you, Mark.Â* Are you in the flarmnet
database?Â* I had a "5J" plastered on the center of my screens all day. On 6/16/2019 8:31 PM, wrote: When we met up north of Leyba on today's flight, I was getting a dual return from your ship. The correct ICAO address is in the flarmcfg.txt file.
Looking at the file it is in lower case.Â* Maybe that's the problem? I'll edit the file to make it upper case and try again. I do recall seeing somewhere, I think in the online configuration tool that at least something is case insensitive.Â* Maybe it's not for the ICAO address. Dan- Log in to OLC to bring up "Meeting Points" on your flight trace. We were in the vicinity of each other at 2055Z for 1:33. No Flarm warning, but I definitely got a scope sighting. Don't recall the range. I am in the Flarmnet database as MSM.

I recall a glider passing slightly low on my left, head on.Â* I probably
had you on Flarm but I did not see your call sign.Â* Are you in Flarmnet? On 6/17/2019 5:04 PM, wrote: Dan- Log in to OLC to bring up "Meeting Points" on your flight trace. Need Help Configuring Power FLARM Portable
FIXED!
I was able to create a new config file on the Flarm website and, with a few tweaks, got it working.Â* Flew today and all was well. Thanks to all who helped. On 6/14/2019 9:17 AM, Dan Marotta wrote: You've read on another thread that, since updating the firmware in my PF Portable and updating the FlarmNet data file in my ClearNav II, I've not been receiving Flarm targets on the ClearNav or on my wife's Streak. Yesterday, full of hope, I downloaded and installed the just released FlarmNet file (data.fln).Â* No joy! The next easiest thing to try would be to roll back the PowerFlarm firmware from 6.67 to 6.60 but I suspect that that won't work.Â* I would expect a message telling me that I have a newer version installed. So I figured I'd try to reset the configuration of the Flarm.Â* I went to Flarm.com and started the Configuration Tool.Â* One of the earliest questions asked was for the serial number of my unit and, when I entered that, I got an error stating that the serial number was invalid!Â* True, I did not have the unit with me at home to check, but I do have the SD card and it looks to me like the serial number is either 960 or 000960.Â* I entered both and got errors.Â* My PFP00960.txt file is here https://www.dropbox.com/s/typrd4dz1a4g69t/PFP00960.TXT?dl=0 to be looked at for any advice.Â* I'm out of ideas. -- Dan, 5J -- Dan, 5J |
