Hi,

I have a problem with my com system.
When my passenger has plugged in the headset the signal becomes very
weak.
I had the maintenance guys have a look at it but they say all works
fine.
We also use the same type of headsets and tried the mono/stereo
setting but this does not improve anything.
The intercom works ok.
At the moment I pull the plugs -so to speak- when I have to transmit.

Any sugestions
-Kees.

You did not say if you have an intercom or if so what brand. Many of
the lower cost intercoms connect the mic's together with a wire
instead of using a separate amplifier and power bias for each mic
position.

Every mic brand that I have ever looked at on a scope all get a lot
more signal distortion if connected DIRECTLY to any other mic.
Some just do not work at all if used with another brand of headset.
The better designed intercoms avoid this problem by providing a
separate bias for each mic.
