Ok you've seen the digital picture frames for a while now.

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000H743WC

This one (and many more) run on windoze CE5.

Now watch this video...

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5watadHqGAk

Add a copy of XCSoar and a usb to serial converter and you have a 10"
glide computer
while 10" is overkill unless you fly a 232!! there are digi frames in
all sizes starting from 2" up.

Cool huh?

Al,
I guess the question is what do these frames look like in sunlight?
And will they handle the rough environment that is a glider cockpit?
You need to find one that has a touch screen (they are out there).
I have seen tiny key ring type ones, and 7" ones, but not much in 5"
or so which is what I envisage to be a useful size.

Let us all know when you have one up and running in your glider. I'm
interested.

Regards, Bernie.

I've been waiting for someone to take one for the team and try to get
WinCE (they say it works) to run on a http://www.alwaysinnovating.com/touchbook/
with XCSoar.

Looks much better than a picture frame, great resolution, etc.

I think it's great info... I did read it a few days ago and spent some
time reading about it and watching various videos.

Need to find a 5" version with a touch screen.

XC soar runs on PC systems as well as CE.
