Located at the northern perimeter of Airforce Plant 42 in Palmdale,
California (site of the Skunkworks). Look like some sort of HAS (Hardened
Aircraft Shelter) due to the shape, but they don't look to have roofs.

It is looking like a site used to test jet engine or additionnal rocket
motor (chemical engine to increase speed at high altitude/see F104 or Mirage
III).

Much clearer in Google Earth images.
appear to be roofless hanger/engine test stands.
perhaps an effort to keep noise to a minimum.
as well as a way to keep prying eyes and/or dust down

both appear to have two tiedown posts/points visible inside..

Thanks guys; much appreciated. I wasn't sure - they're pretty large for
engine test beds, but you've both come to the same conclusion so I'll accept
that.
