I have asked all members of the Minden Soaring Club to vote on a
proposal to move all gliding to the East side of the airport, or to
stay on the West side.

Please visit the club's website www.mindensoaringclub.org, read the
news and articles on the subject, and follow instructions on how to
vote.

This is an especially important time, and this vote is crucial for the
future of soaring at Minden.

Based on discussions with people I know and trust who were involved in
this process, it is clear to me that the East Side Plan, approved by
the BoD of the Minden Soaring Club and other MEV pilot groups, is the
only viable plan. While I'd like to see the sweetheart deals that were
given to developers reversed and space made available for new T-hangars
too, my conversations convinced me that everything has been done in
that regard (not much unfortunately) that could be. Those at MSC who
worked long and hard on this process deserve our support -- not to
mention our thanks given their service as unpaid volunteers. Hence I
strongly recommend a vote for the East Side Plan. If the vote goes the
other way, I wouldn't be surprised to see an exodus of MSC officers,
feeling (as I would in that case) "If they think they can do better,
let them try. I've had it."
