Default Uvalde Friday(7-28) pre everything for USA 18 Meter Nationals.

Arrived late last night. Went thru several large bad thunderstorms around Van Horn area on Interstate 10. Gust were 60 plus mph. From I 10 took 277 to 55 down thru Rock Springs. It was 6:30 pm ish and cu bases were still above 12,000 msl with streets running to Uvalde. Amazing to see for being so late in the day.

Dropped trailer off at airport last night and went back this morning to get settled in. Only a handful of folks, ZO, Rich Owens, LX, John and Linda Murray, F1, Dave and Virginia Springford as they just pulled in. 5U, the Glitners are here. 7V, DT and JS1 trailers are here but didn't see anyone. Several more trailers southern end but didn't see who they were.

It's hot, no clouds to speak of and no tow plane. Tomorrow, Saturday pre practice day we will have a tow plane. Sunday is first official practice day.

Will get some pictures and post more tomorrow on my blog. Looks like we are at 33-35 folks. With over 135 modern 18 Meter ships in the USA, a central location along with some of the finest thermal soaring to enjoy, number of folks do seem low.

Best. Tom #711.
