Default Summer (Dec-April 08) Tow Pilot / Instructor(s) wanted for NZ adventure at Wellington Gliding Club

The Wellington Gliding Club (New Zealand) is looking for the following
people to help man our full time summer flying operation which runs
from the beginning of December 2007 until Mid April 2008:

One Tow Pilot - Piper Pawnee glider towing experience essential. A
Glider instructor rating would be useful but not essential.

Two Glider Instructors - Internationally recognised Gliding Instructor
rating required. We will arrange your NZ cross certification.

One or more Ground Coordinator(s) - This role helps move the gliders
around on the field, answers the phone on the field, meet and greets
people coming for a fly etc. It would suit someone travelling, with a
sense of humour, who wants a base and has an interest in flying or
aviation. It's a heap of fun and a very cheap way to learn to glide if
so desired. The role can be shared. To see what gliding life is all
about have a look at: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a0Y-9VCpfS8 or
http://www.liftedfilms.com/index.html

All positions offer free accommodation on the airfield, the use of the
club car, free glider time and a heap of fun. The Gliding Instructor
roles also have a $150 weekly food allowance.

Roles can be for the entire summer period or part. Generally its
flying midweek if fine and weekends off but we are really flexible. If
its wet then you are free to travel etc. The club will have two brand
new DG1000 training gliders by the start of the summer season so it's
the latest hi
tech equipment.

Please contact:

or visit the club website at:
www.soar.co.nz for more information.

Please pass on or put this note in your clubhouse noticeboard if you
are aware of others possible interest

10 years ago I responded to this post and ended up having one of the
best adventures of my life. My accounts are posted at:
http://www.cumulus-soaring.com/soarmn/soaring_files.htm

Still dreaming of returning.

Good luck Ross! If you can persuade Tony Condon (aka The Cherokee
Kid) to leave school for a month or two you couldn't do better.

Matt Michael

P.S. Hey Ross, still waiting for the WGC Instructor patch to replace
my worn out one!

Yes that would be much more fun than going to College. Will have to
keep my ears open for next summer, I could come down after I
graduate. Would be a great way to have some fun while not being in
college. Got any wood gliders down there? All that fiberglass scares
me
