Default Volkslogger questions

I installed the VL and my iPAQ with Glide Nav II, last spring in my
ASW-20 and have had great success in improving my soaring skills. The
analysis in SeeYou is great.

Now I want to start using the VL for my badges. The instructions on
declaration of tasks, taks versus goals etc., is pretty poor.
What is the best way to do this? Seems using the SeeYou to upload the
task is the best but I'm not sure I'm doing it correctly. Perhaps a
short tutorial could assure and help me.

I've also written the Badge Lady offering this type of an article in
Soaring would be a great help.

Thanks and Happy New Year,
Dan Rihn

My suggestion is that if you really want to get the hang of the Volkslogger
(or SN10, Cambridge) or whatever for declaring and flying tasks do the
following (as I did):
Cobble up a cable for your car to power the equipment. Then experiment with
declaring and driving tasks. You'll find out quickly all the ins and outs
of what the device does and doesn't do. Discover exactly how the
Volkslogger decides if you are in the sector or cylinder. How to correctly
upload a non-radius limited turnpoint from SeeYou to a Volkslogger. And on
and on.

IMnsHO all the written articles in the world are not nearly worth the
experience of experimenting with the device in an environment where you are
not spending 90% of your time staying up and navigating.
