Region V South contest
First--Kudos to Larry "01" Goddard as CD. In this, his first outing as CD, he was faced with difficult (to say the least) weather. Thanks to the Area Task, and good weather information from our WX guru, Fernando "FS" Silva, he managed to pull three days out of a hat! Intelligent use of the task design made it possible. Thanks to the skill and courage of our pilots, there were enough completions to make it legal!
Second-No Thanks to tropical storm Andrea---she made it really hard--more like July than June. Lastly---we had 3 young pilots have their first off field landing! No serious damage except a gear door. Welcome to the club, guys! Hartley Falbaum, CM
