Looking for an Instructor in Chandler, AZ

Hi, I'm looking for an instructor to help me with my Private Pilot's
licence. I have about 20 hours of flight training from an instructor in
California, but now I have brought my plane to Chandler's Stellar
Airpark and I'm hoping to find an instructor here for around $20/hour
(or less :-). Does anybody know an instructor who might be able to help
me?

BTW, I have my own Cessna 150 which would be used for the training.

Try the aopa.org directory of flight instructors, or www.nafi.org. A little
caveat, at your budget of $20/hour or less, you'll be waiting a long time for
someone qualified. But I'm always willing to be wrong.

Look around at the flight schools, too many young people there are
willing to teach for practically nothing only to get the flying time.
You should have no problem finding someone at $20 an hour. Also you
may even look around the local fields for a retired airline pilot. We
know they're broke from the low wages they had to endure, so maybe you
can find some high quality education for that $20.

I have been instructing long enough to have renewed my ticket and I
have never cleared $20.00 an hour. For that reason, few people choose
instructing as a career. Fortunately, the money is not my motivation. My
situation is a little different, but most instructors that I know are "time
builders".

My wife and I both did the 5Hr spin & upset recovery course at
Chandler Aviation at CHD. Later, my wife did her tailwheel endorsement
with Chandler Aviation using our PA20 Pacer. Check with them.

Hanging around the public terminal, there seemed to be several
independant instructors there with their students.

There are some starving instructors working at the FBOs at CHD that
should be able to help out. Many are independent contractors, so
there's no issue about them working "off the FBO clock". Check
Tailwinds (Formerly Sunbird Flight Services) and Chandler Air Service
FBOs. Also, there are numerous independent instructors that post
their business cards on the big bulletin board in the pilots' lounge.

I think you mean Chandler Air Service. Chandler Aviation is the
maintenance-only FBO right next door.

Hey Mike, I think I met your wife. I remember a gal from SLC
getting her endorsement in her PA20 a year or two back. I was
checking out the Pacer because I thought Chandler Air Service had
bought a new plane, when she came up and explained it was hers. A
buddy of mine flies his Pacer with me in the Idaho backcountry and we
were talking about the best places to go.
