Flooding, well okay, *but at least provide indexes*. Then at
least you can choose what you want to see.
Frankly I, along with others don't even look. The few loud
mouths that do THINK they speak for the rest of us, look...lol
You would think, after all the DON'T DO IT posts they'd get a
clue. No, it's pure to disrupt and gain attention. Nothing
else. They do it because they can, and don't give a flying
whazzo if anyone looks at their posts.
They post on topic, but don't give a **** about the most of
the folks that would view them.
I agree a few dozen a day is best.
No one is "waiting" for these. A few posts like you said per
day would be great.
You'll never change their spots....killfile is the best. Damn
shame!

What do you consider the threshold of flooding? No one is forced to
open every post or any at all so what's the big fuss? If this NG
has a collective strong feeling about on-topic posts, max
posts/day, and encoding scheme(s), perhaps an enforceable FAQ
should be adopted to guide people.

FAQ'n charters are not enforceable.

And then there is the issue of flooding.

What is wrong with posting just a dozen or so
images per day? Is there some urgency that requires
a whole series to uploaded all at once?

Why should I have to collect a few bits a day?

Dan married one of a pair of identical twin girls. Less than a year later, he was in court filing for a divorce. "OK," the judge said, "Tell the court why you want a divorce."
"Well, your honor," Dan started, "Every once in a while my sister in law would come over for a visit, and because she and my wife are so identical looking, every once in a while I'd end up making love to her by mistake."
"Surely there must be some difference between the two women." the judge said.
"You'd better believe there is a difference, your honor. That's why I want the divorce." he replied.

Because that is the pace I post them at.
If you are in a hurry to collect them all at
once for some reason let me know.

It doesn't really bother me. But I fail to see why it bothers others
when someone doesn't post at exactly the speed they want. This is a
public group with hundreds of people using it.

A gang-member was holding his 8-month-old baby while his wife was in kitchen fixing lunch.
The baby murmured "mother".
The guy gets all excited and hollered to his wife "Hey, the baby just said half a word!"

I don't like it either. But after missing heaps of posts, I gave up and
ended up downloading a small program from the sight attached below. It
creates a shortcut on the desk top called 'OeyEnc Loader' which opens
'Outlook Express' and allows it to read yEnc post so long as the yEnc is
written into the subject heading.

The whole thing is a bloody nuisance - flooding the group with a useless
number of downloads. It spoils an otherwise enjoyable evening for me

This is exactly the same I am using, however, the problem with the most
recent YEnc posts lies within you last sentence, "so long as the yEnc is
written into the subject heading".
Unfortunately, the person posting it (oh so wiesly chosing yEnc as a handle)
ignored this most important rule about yEnc.

It is imparative the term is to be included in the subject line so that
either we can read the posts or others, who simply do not wish to read yEn
posts at all (for w/e reason) can properly filter them.

Some folks really seem to be lacking certain manners... :/

Properly written apps will either automatically add "yEnc" to the
subject line or require the poster to add it.

What does using yEnc have to do with manners? This is much to do
about nothing and the entire debate is because the Luddites who
insist on using Outhouse Depressed instead of a real news reader
can't decode yEnc.

You are very proud of your wordplay, it appears, but this does not alter
the fact that many people use OE.
yEnc is a toy for people who insist on showing that they are clever.
Well, good for you. You are a clever boy, now go and do something useful,
like posting pictures as is. If you use a decent provider and connection
there is no need for these silly programs.

Grow up.

Herman
