Info from Stan Hall's daughter:

Stan Hall's memorial service is scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 26 at
1:30pm at St. Luke's Lutheran Church at 1025 The Dalles in Sunnyvale.
His obituary will appear in this Sunday's San Jose Mercury News. It
will mention that donations can go to the Wings of History Museum in
San Martin...two of his planes are in their care.

Stanley A. Hall

Stanley A. Hall Nov. 22, 1915 - Sept. 7, 2009 Beloved husband, father
and renowned aircraft designer /pilot passed away peacefully at age 93
at his long time home in Sunnyvale on Sep. 7, 2009. He is survived by
his wife of 67 years, Doris, his son Roger Hall, his daughter, Denise
Hutson, both of Sunnyvale, and his grandson Chad Hutson of Oakbrook
Terrace, IL. Stan was an aeronautical engineer by profession and
worked with North American Aviation, Douglas Aircraft, Claiborne
Flight Academy and Northrop Aircraft during his carrer. His longest-
term position was with Lockheed Missiles & Space Co. where he worked
as project leader on the QT-2 and YO-3A Quiet Reconnaissance Aircraft
Programs. He retired in 1973 and continued to work as a consultant for
many years. Stan spent his leisure time designing, building and
piloting aircraft as well. His Cherokee II sailplane and Safari
powered glider reside at the Wings of History Museum in San Martin.
His Ibex sailplane is on display with the Soaring Society of America
in Elmira, NY. He was the author of almost 90 articles on the subject
of homebuilt aircraft in several trade magazines between 1956-1988.
Family and friends are invited to a celebration of his life on
Saturday, Sep. 26, 2009 at 1:30pm at St. Luke's Lutheran Church at
1025 The Dalles in Sunnyvale. In lieu of flowers, donations can be
made in his memory to the Wings of History Museum at 12777 Murphy

Correction: The Ibex is at the National Soaring Museum in Elmira, NY.
It is not currently on display.

Sadly I will not be able to make it. Just too far. The 26th will be the
Saturday of the Vintage and Classic Meet here in Wichita. I will be
presenting a report on the glide testing that I did last fall on my
Cherokee. Then, the Cherokee and I will fly. I think that this is about
as good of a tribute as I can muster to Stan. If anyone who will be at
the service could please let the family know that at least one Cherokee II
will be aloft that day, I would appreciate it.

Thanks Bob. The Cherokee and I flew 1:45 on the first tow Saturday,
climbed to 6000 feet and shared thermals with a few red tail hawks and a
vulture.
