Default Ely Grand Prix of Soaring. Experience it!

Soaring Enthusiasts,

The Ely Grand Prix of Soaring is coming the first week in July. I am
providing a real-time glider tracking system that will allow observers on
the ground and around the world to watch the competition live on a SeeYou
screen. To pull this off, I am in desperate need of a few volunteers to
help out.

I have identified the jobs that I need to do. If you cannot meet the entire
commitment time please still contact me. Any committed time can help.

Please contact me by the following methods:

email: .
phone: 775 267 0808

Ely is a great place to see and Fly.

1. Web Master / Slave. I need help in developing and maintaining a simple
web site to support the Ely GP tracking system. One page. JPG upload and
presentation.
Number wanted: 1
Commitment: Need you now ongoing until end of contest. Do not need to be
at competition. Remote support is just fine.

2. Pilot with a power plane to fly in reasonable proximity to the GP "pack"
to act as aerial repeater.
Fuel will be paid for by the Ely GP and GliderTrack.
Number wanted: 1 to 2 (only 1 needs to fly per day)
Commitment: Available practice days and competition days. Flying time 2 to
3 hours per day.
Other requirements: Must be willing to temporarily install a radio and
antenna in your plane. Radio will require 4 - 5 amp draw. Could be a
motorglider like Grob 109 or any plane that can maintain 100mph.

3. Assistant to the Aerial Repeater Pilot. To fly in the chase plane and
assist the pilot with spotting, radio system, etc.
Number Required: 1 or 2.

4. Repeater driver. Drive my Jeep to a strategic location on a mountain
top near Ely. Hang out during competition to support radio system.
Commitment: Practice days and competition days.
Number wanted: 1 or 2.
Other requirements: Drivers license. Reliable.

5. Ground helper. Set up radios in gliders daily in the AM. Remove radios
in PM and set up to charge.
Number wanted: 1 or 2.
Commitment: Practice days and competition days. Morning and late
afternoon. You can fly in the mean time.
